At its core is a station methodology of teaching and learning – a series of specific skills goals that individuals need to master one after the other – to achieve swim competency and ensure safety in and around the water. The program is designed so that learners can move forward at their own pace. Goals: introduce infants and tots into the aquatic environment and provide training so they can respond appropriately should they find themselves accidentally in the water. Students will learn to float and kick on their backs so they can get a breath when necessary. "Swimming" many students will learn to move through the water and get a breath when needed.
