Swim America Lessons: Parent Tot (Infant 6- 24 months)LSPS AquaticsWHAT is SwimAmerica? SwimAmerica is a program of swim instruction for people of any age. At its core is a station methodology of teaching and learning – a series of specific skills goals that individuals need to master one after the other – to achieve swim competency and ensure safety in and around the water. The program is designed so that learners can move forward at their own pace. Goals: introduce infants and tots into the aquatic environment and provide training so they can respond appropriately should they find themselves accidentally in the water. Students will learn to float and kick on their backs so they can get a breath when necessary. "Swimming" many students will learn to move through the water and get a breath when needed. All skills taught in this program set a strong foundation for effective strokes and a lifetime love of the water Recommended for class: SWIM DIAPER IS REQUIRED swim suit towel Goggles highly recommended depending on age and coordination, to be practiced and tested in the shower prior to the first day Rashguard shirt or wet suit top highly recommended if the student easily gets cold Instructors are trained and supervised by the Head Coach of the Lakers Aquatic Club, Paul Kraft. Paul has decades of experience in teaching swimming from learn to swim, to USA swimming national qualifiers. He is a certified 6-12 science and mathematics teacher. Paul grew up living and breathing Lake Saint Clair and is happy to be returning to help his home town team.Fall/Winter 2026- 2027 -
